Audition Expectations

Students will need to complete the placement audition in one of the following circumstances:

  1. Students who take classical voice lessons (not musical theatre or jazz) are required to take an ensemble. This audition is for Dr. Millard to place you in an ensemble. Classical voice students may not self-select their ensemble.
  2. Students who do not take classical voice lessons (and may come from any other major, music or otherwise) and would like to be considered for membership in Concert Choir.

All singers will be required to audition for consideration for Concert Choir, even previous members. You may be asked to sight-sing during your audition, especially those who have not previously been a member of Concert Choir.

It is expected that you adequately prepare the excerpt below. Additionally, be sure that the Latin diction is correctly prepared. It is expected that you also observe any music markings in the score.
