Audition Expectations

All singers will be required to audition for consideration for Concert Choir, even previous members. You may be asked to sight-sing during your audition, especially those who have not previously been a member of Concert Choir.

It is expected that you adequately prepare the excerpt below. Additionally, be sure that the Latin diction is correctly prepared. It is expected that you also observe any music markings in the score.

All students who take voice lessons are expected to audition for Concert Choir and through this process, be placed in a choir by Dr. Millard only. No one may elect their own placement into another choir.

Audition Excerpt

The audition excerpt will be from Franz Schubert’s Mass in G, movement 2: Gloria. Please prepare measures 1-38. A tempo of quarter note equals 144 will be observed. Please print and bring your own music or have it available for yourself digitally. Music will not be provided for you.
